Pookkalam (Floral Carpet) Competition

Venues: Bhavani Atrium - Technopark Phase 1 & Technopark Phase 3

Date & Time: 08-Sep-2016, 7:00 AM - 10.00 AM (inclusive of design and decoration)

Registration:

Participant are requested to register online at www.natana.in and only one registration per organization is allowed. If multiple registrations are received, then first registration will be considered.

General Rules:

  • Each team can have a maximum of 10 persons, and the team captain’s name has to be mentioned during registration
  • The slot/venue for pookkalam will be decided by a lot during the Team Captains Meeting, the date of which shall be intimated later
  • The Team Captain confirm the names of the participants before 7:00 AM on 8th September. All the participants are requested to carry their employee ID’s during the competition. Once the event has started swapping participants is NOT allowed
  • The design and shape of the Pookkalam is the choice of each team, however, the size should not exceed more than 6 feet X 6 feet. (the designated area shall be marked by the Natana Organizing Committee)
  • Usage of stencils or printed designs (as the base) is NOT allowed, the designs are expected to be hand drawn during the time window
  • Teams can use ONLY flowers and green leaves to make the pookkalam. Materials like coffee powder, sawdust, colored desiccated coconut or colored powder or any sort of artificial items are NOT allowed. Use of green leaves are allowed but should not exceed 20% of the pookkalam
  • The pookkalam should consist only of the petals of the flowers. The whole flower should not be present in the pookkalam (An exception to this rule is if the team wants to place a lotus in the  pookkalam or other small flowers for borders and detailing)
  • Once the pookkalam is done, teams can build ambience with traditional decorations (not compulsory)
  • The competition starts by 7.00 AM. Each team will get 3.00 hours to design and complete the pookkalam. Setting up & preparing the flowers can be done the prior to the time window.
  • The teams are expected to clean the surroundings once the pookkalam is complete and ready for judging
  • Maximum of two members  from the team can explain the theme and respond to the queries of the judges
  • Judges decision is final and binding

Note:

  • There is no registration or participation fee
  • The teams have to source all the items required for the pookkalam contest
  • No usage of crackers or other exploding items which can cause fire
  • Please use colored chalks for drawing the layout, please refrain from usage of markers or other permanent marking items which can damage the floor tile.

Onam Rally Competition

Venue: To start from Park Centre and conclude at M Squared Cricket Ground

Date & Time: 08-Sep-2016, 10:00 AM - 11.30 AM

Registration:

Participant are requested to register online at www.natana.in and only one registration per organization is allowed. If multiple registrations are received, then the first registration will be considered. Registrations will open from 16th August till 18th August 2016.

General Rules

  • The Theme of the Rally is "Onakaazhchakal"
  • The whole team should report to the venue by 9.30 AM
  • There is no limitation on the number of participants but, outsiders are not allowed to participate in the rally. If there is any violation, the team would be disqualified
  • A team should nominate a Team Captain at the time of registration
  • All participants in the rally should provide their ID cards whenever asked by the organisers
  • All motorised floats should be restricted within the size of a Light Motor Vehicle, and mandatorily a copy of the Fitness Certificate of the vehicle, and the License of the Driver should be submitted beforehand to NATANA
  • Though use of appropriate props in the rally is permitted as per the theme, the props should be handled by the team participants except for the above said motorized float/associated elements.  
  • All individual teams have to ensure that the participants in the rally are medically fit and physically capable of participating in the event
  • Participants under the influence of alcohol or any other illicit substance/drugs shall be immediately reported to law and the team disqualified from the event
  • As far as possible, the floats/elements in the rally should follow a green-protocol and use of substances like plastic/flex/thermocol etc is not desirable
  • Strictly no fireworks/crackers during the rally and any abusive contents, usage of dangerous substances & misbehaviour will amount to disqualification of the team
  • After the event, the respective teams should ensure that the props/elements used in the rally are not left behind at the venue or inside Technopark
  • Parameters for the judgement would be based on theme, creativity, uniqueness, coordination & discipline
  • The decision by the judging panel  would be final

Note:

  • There is no registration or participation fee
  • The teams have to source all the items required for the rally contest
  • The order of the rally will be finalized through a lot during the team captains meeting a few days before the event

Onam Sadhya

Venue: Cricket Ground, Near MSquare, Technopark

Date: 08 September 2016

The registration for the Organic Onam Sadhya which is being conducted by Prakruthi, with the chef being Pazhayidam Mohanan Nanboothiri is open.

The Organic Onam Sadhya is costed at Rs. 200 each, from which Rs. 50 will go to a charity cause. The tickets can be booked individually or by the companies in bulk (for Phase 1, 2, 3 companies). As the total seats are limited to 1500, please register early.

As the event follows a Green Protocol, tickets will be issued only digitally to the registered email id (with a QR Code) by 7th September, before 12 noon, and we urge that the digital format of the tickets be shown at the entrance.
